Fasoli Gino, Amarone della Valpolicella Corte del Pozzo DOC 2007

17.5° Grape: Corvina 70%, Rondinella 30%

This is one big, powerful Amarone, made in the traditional way from semi-dried grapes, whose sugars ferment into an intense, dry wine. It's a deep, vivid, ruby red, with ripples of violet; the aromas are all ripe plums, damsons, brambles and dark cherries. Up to four years in large oak casks allow the pruny, brambly flavours to mature revealing warmth and spiciness of cinnamon and cloves.
