Ceste, Tubleu Langhe Rosso DOC 2011

11.5° Grape: 50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Barbera

On the evidence of this fine wine, these vines do well on Piemontese soil, especially on the all blue (tu-bleu in dialect) soil veined with blue volcanic tuff. The grapes are harvested manually at the end of the season and fermented with a touch of the local Barbera. A year's ageing in 50hl barrels completes the process of this long-ageing wine. Ruby red with scents of hay and wild flowers and roses, are followed by a soft, velvety and intense taste counterbalanced by just the right acidity. Impossible to resist.
